Check out your 2024 Recap in Google Photos

As 2024 draws to a close, Google Photos is introducing a new way to relive your year. 2024 Recap1 is a new collection of memories — a Recap memory and a set of interesting insights — that helps you rediscover the moments that made this year special.

Your Recap memory highlights memorable photos and moments from your year, paired with fun graphics and cinematic effects. In addition, select users in the U.S. can opt in to receive a version of their Recap memory that adds personalized captions generated by a Gemini model highlighting the two biggest moments from your year. For me, that was my wedding and a trip to Seoul with my wife.

Aside from your Recap memory, you’ll also receive insights — fun and surprising tidbits about your year based on the photos you took, like your longest photo streak, who you smiled most with, who you took the most photos of, the top colors you photographed and your 2024 vibes.

  • Animation of the “You smiled most with” insight memory.

  • Animation of the “Most snapped colors this year” insight memory.

  • Animation of the “Your All Star cast” insight memory.

You can also easily share your Recap memory and insights straight from Google Photos to your favorite messaging or social media apps. Let your friends and family in on the fun and relive your favorite moments together — and see how your longest photo streaks stack up.

2024 Recap is starting to roll out now. If you've got notifications turned on, Photos will let you know when yours is ready to view. They’ll remain easily accessible in your Memories carousel all month and will move to your photo grid in January, so you can return to them later when you’re feeling nostalgic.

Head over to the Google Photos app to check out your 2024 Recap and revisit the moments that shaped your year. (And if you’re in the U.S. and it’s available to you, make sure you've opted into using Gemini features in Photos in your app settings to receive the Gemini version of your Recap memory!)
